We’ve got a lot of things going on this fall, with volunteer opportunities, educational programming, kids’ activities, and of course Sunday Worship and Sunday School. Check our events page to see what’s in the works, and we hope you can join us.
Vacation Bible School Recap
This was St. Peter’s second year hosting Vacation Bible School. Our theme was “Games Galore”. We started each day with a family meal followed by lessons, games, and art projects.
All the lessons were about Community. On Monday evening we taught about Jesus and his friends building a “sacred” community. Tuesday’s lesson was about diversity in neighborhood communities. Wednesday the kids learned about love and cooperation in community.
Thursday the story was about creating new communities through a baby blessing. Pastor Nancy demonstrated how we celebrated the blessing of people at our church through baptism. This came to life for the Brazzell Family who baptized all four children on Father’s Day.
We ended VBS with the second summer BBQ. Our VBS families, South Hill Community Gardeners and St. Peters members came together as a community to enjoy hamburgers and hot dogs cooked by the Brazells.
Thank you to everyone who helped with VBS in whatever form. What a wonderful community we can be when we all work together with God’s blessing.

Our worship is lively and engaging. Join us at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. We claim a progressive theology and believe God is still speaking. We welcome all questions and all seekers. We welcome GLBTQ folks and families. We are an active Open and Affirming congregation in the United Church of Christ. We are committed to […]

Believe that following the path and teachings of Jesus can lead to an awareness and experience of the Sacred and the Oneness and Unity of all life; 2. Affirm that the teachings of Jesus provide but one of many ways to experience the Sacredness […]
